I'm looking for a new card now i've got the cash and i've got my eye on either a 9700np or a 9800np (depending on price, UK is expensive) and i've seen a Grandmars 9800np with 3.0ns Infineon memory. Is this the good stuff or the bad stuff? Which one should i be looking for? Haven't bought a new card in AGES so i'm a little rusty... :)

Stay away from 3.0ns Infineon memory. Terrible overclockers from what I hear. You want to get Samsung 2.8 or 3.3ns ram. 2.8 overclocks higher without BIOS flash but 3.3 seems to go higher after BIOS flash.

Ahh Samsung! I thought I remembered Infineon as being a bit fishy... Cheers!:D:beer:

OK i've decided to get a retail instead of Ebay, which brand of 9700np/9800np is usually the best out of this list for general performance/overclocking?

Powercolour
Sapphire
Connect3D

Sounds like either Sapphire or the ones mae by ATi themselves are the best pick to get the ram but still sounds like you have a change of getting the crappy ones. Would suggest you simply buy one from best buy or such and if it's not the right ram bring it back and repeat :p

Does Best Buy have a UK-based department? lol looks like a lengthy way or getting a good vid carb by sending it back if it hasn't got the right RAM. If they kept sending me the crap RAM time and time again by the time I get a good one the ATI 620 will probably have come out, lol. :)
