Whats the best memory for ATI cards?

I'm looking for a new card now i've got the cash and i've got my eye on either a 9700np or a 9800np (depending on price, UK is expensive) and i've seen a Grandmars 9800np with 3.0ns Infineon memory. Is this the good stuff or the bad stuff? Which one should i be looking for? Haven't bought a new card in AGES so i'm a little rusty... :beer:

Stay away from 3.0ns Infineon memory. Terrible overclockers from what I hear. You want to get Samsung 2.8 or 3.3ns ram. 2.8 overclocks higher without BIOS flash but 3.3 seems to go higher after BIOS flash.

OK i've decided to get a retail instead of Ebay, which brand of 9700np/9800np is usually the best out of this list for general performance/overclocking?

Sounds like either Sapphire or the ones mae by ATi themselves are the best pick to get the ram but still sounds like you have a change of getting the crappy ones. Would suggest you simply buy one from best buy or such and if it's not the right ram bring it back and repeat

Does Best Buy have a UK-based department? lol looks like a lengthy way or getting a good vid carb by sending it back if it hasn't got the right RAM. If they kept sending me the crap RAM time and time again by the time I get a good one the ATI 620 will probably have come out, lol. :beer:

Well look for a computer store that has a return policy that works. Don't know UK cept they are far far away from where I live
