What's the best inexpensive video card for an LCD?

So, I got hooked up with the 19" Dell LCD deal. I have a GeForce4 MX 420 video card that has no DVI-output on it. I've heard that DVI gives between a 2% and 10% increase in picture quality, so I've started looking at new video cards.

The most important factors are that it is AGP, and provides the best text-quality available. I don't really play games, so I don't need anything faster than a TNT2 or Radeon. I'd like to find a card in the sub-$50 range, if possible.

Any opinions out there from people who have owned several LCDs and several video cards?
 
There are three Radeon 7500 variants on NewEgg that would fit the bill. There is an OEM RADEON 7500 64MB SDR for $51, an OEM RADEON 7500 LE 64MB DDR for $61, and an OEM RADEON 7500 64MB DDR for $65. I know DDR is faster than SDR, but I have no idea what is different with the LE version. I have the full blown retail box of the 7500 and I love it, though you can now get the 8500 for the price I got it for a year ago! DVI works awesome with the retail version of the 7500s and 8500s that I have sold. I don't think they make a 7000 or 7200 with DVI, and I don't think a 9000 has dropped much in price yet. I did see an OEM RADEON 9000 Atlantis 64mb DDR w/ DVI for $75 on NewEgg though. I tend to stick with retail boxes and not OEM though.
 
Look for an older Radeon VE. Basically, it's the same as a Radeon 7000. I bought one specifically for my DVI-only LCD monitor, and though it works great for apps, I wish I had a better gaming card. Want mine?

Yes, I had forgotten about the older Radeon VE. It is about the same as the 7000. Might be a good deal found there if one looked around hard enough!
 
Hmm, one thing I forgot to mention is that I primarily use Linux, so any card would hopefully have accelleration in X. I'm pretty sure the DRI for Radeon cards is fairly mature, but I still prefer the nvidia drivers.

I'm also looking at some Matrox cards, but they're even worse driver support than ATI for Linux
