...when considering the built-in corporate infrastructure that the organization gets at acquisition cost?

For instance, a company that makes computer equipment doesn't have to spend a bunch of money to put a computer on every desk and load the datacenter. A company that offers phone/cellular service has minimal overhead based on telecommunications. Airlines never have to worry about arranging airfare for its execs/employees. A company that makes kazoos... well... has a lot of free marketing toys :)

Just a random thought of mine... any thoughts? I have a feeling that computer manufacturers make out the best in this regard but maybe someone else can think of a better one.

Quick edit: For the sake of this hypothetical situation, porn doesn't apply here since having porn DVDs around the "office" doesn't lower bottom-line costs. (I can already picture the witty remarks being formed to comment on that :D)

Edit #2: Change the question to clarify that the organization gets the benefits, not necessarily the employees directly. Hence porn is still not a valid answer. :)

They get them at manufacturer's cost.

from a financial perspective, yes, but from a subjective perspective it would be Manufacturer's cost + Opportunity Cost. They also lose the profit they would have generated if they sold that equipment on the market.

Either way, they don't get them for free, like the OP was implying.

And of course nothing is "free" unless it materializes out of thin air. Nitpicking on semantics aside, which industries' finished products have the biggest impact on lowering the providing company's operating costs?

Oops, I realized why the answers were off... my question was a bit flawed:

Was: "What's the best industry to be in when considering the built-in corporate infrastructure you get for free?" (probably why everyone was saying porn)

Now: "What's the best industry to be in when considering the built-in corporate infrastructure that the organization gets at acquisition cost?" (fixed the "free" part too for notfred and the other nitpickers)
