Question Whats the best home wired router?

Hello,

I'm in the market for a home router. I just need it to connect 2 computers via wire. I don't mind paying for the WIFI capabilities but for now it must have fast wired connectivity. Here is the rub. I need to be able to connect my modem to it via USB. When I am shopping I cannot tell if the USB port on a router is capable of using a modem on the USB port. From what I have read, some can and some cannot. But they don't usually specify in the add. Any help ore recommendations would be appreciated.

Question - If i can't have any physical internet connection what should i use instead?

My house does not have cable, fiber, or dsl so the only way i would be able to get home internet would have to be wireless but i dont know what a good wireless and not overpriced internet service is

Verizon's newer USB730L modem works well with the ASUS RT-AC5300 as long as you're not using 192.168.1.0/24 as your private IP space. Settings within USB730L accepted changing the default IP space on the modem but after a restart kept defaulting back. Resolved by changing my RT-AC5300 routers...
