Didn't know where else to ask this, but since video cards seem to be the most important part of gamming it looked like a good place to start. I'd like to stick with AMD as they are usually the best for what they cost, but not too sure with laptops. Also I haven't been able to find and AMD laptop with a very good video card. Seems the new ATI chipset with integrated graphics and DDR support is the best bet. Any help would be appreciated.

Here are some benchmarks: ATi's Radeon IGP320M Chipset
It is actually a chipset benchmark but you can see the difference between the GeForce4Go 440, Mobility Radeon 7500, and Radeon IGP320M. The IGP320M scores 32fps in quake3, so it will probably get ~15fps in something like MOH:AA or JK2. You should probably stick with either the mobilityradeon7500 or the geforce4go. Here is another benchmark that compares the geforce4go and mobileradeon7500: http://www.tweakers.net/nieuws/20650 and has the radeon with a slight advantage. I do not know if you will be able to find a new laptop with one of these two options for ~$1000 but here is a list of geforce4go products from nvidia's site:
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=mobile
and the list for the mobilityRadeon7500: http://www.ati.com/shopati/onboard/mobile/mobilityradeon7500.html

Best bang per buck imo would be the 1.2Ghz Dell Inspiron 8100, replace videocard with a Geforce4Go 440 and you'll have a pretty capable gaming machine on the go.

Thanks for the info. Too bad they don't make any AMD laptops with the moble radeon 7500.

AMD currently doesn't have the mobile chipset support that the P4-M does, so that's why it's lacking the 3D cards. I heard ATI was planning on an IGP for the AMD - but as mentioned above, it's hardly what would be considered "gaming performance" today.

Stick to the Intel systems for now - or just buy a mobile monitor and next-gen game system.
