What's the best free upscaleing MSX emulator for Windows 8.1 64bit?

Is fMSX something to your like ?

It supports also MSX2 and MSX2+.
But it does not seem to do turbo R.

fMSX will not let me get 512K of video RAM
it keeps defaulting to 128, I have tried all three MSX emulation modes.

I see also only on the boot screen that 128KB VRAM and MAIN RAM are available, even after after setting to 256KB or more. Strange. Did you try the switch option ?

When looking at the documentation and the switches, i get the feeling that more then 128KB is not functional yet.

These are the command line switches :

-ram <pages> - Number of 16kB RAM pages [4/8/8]
-vram <pages> - Number of 16kB VRAM pages [2/8/8]

If those three 16kB pages settings are /msx/msx2/msx2+,
16kB * 8 = 128KB is the maximum for the VRAM and the MAINRAM.

According to the wiki page of msx, 128kB VRAM and 128kB MAIN RAM were common for the msx2 and msx2+.

Only the turboR had more memory.
