what's the best FREE cd burning software?

excuse me, can somebody help me out? i just installed the demo from their site above, nero50.exe for win2k. i am wondering why it says the demo is only for "hp" drives only? is this a joke? i dont have anything to burn yet, so i was just wondering when i do can i burn with my Memorex?!
EDIT: i solved this little problem already.

get it at any download site. ex:

then you can check later to make it "free"

nero is great...but I don't know about 5.0. They're charging you to upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0 :(

i already have a *free* copy of the progs i want to use, but out of interest, are there any cdr programs that actually are free? if there are any, i'd like to see how they compare to the retail software.

Only for audio, EAC now will burn cd's and is completely free. If you want exact copys of your audio cds or the tracks on them it is what you should use anyway.
