What's the best FPS?

I'm currently playing UT. I'm thinking about getting Q3A. Is it any better than Q2. Are there any other games I should consider?

Q3 is full of action! half life /team fortress/opposing force.
is a great non music game. Sniper action, pick a role, like the guy that looks like a doctor except he infects you with a virus that kills you quick. then there's soldier of fortune (Q2 engine)not that great,sin buggy($2.99 hotdeals),trespass, & yeh gotta have some driven fun!!
Motocross madness 2 & midtown madness($30) & moto racer 2 (9.99 at sams club). I have alot of friends that like different games so its best to have them all.
FPS=frames per second that depends on your processor/video card etc.
& Q3 is alot better than Q2 by the way....

None of these games with the exception of UT*, offers any interesting multiplayer gameplay unless you play one of the mods developed for them.

Now, someone is going to disagree and say that game x or game y offers great mp gameplay out of the box...

Well, it's very simple really. You're wrong. These games all offer boring repetetive gameplay unless you throw in the creative ideas that various mod developers have released.

I know I know... you still want to argue with me... but you're still wrong

UT offered good solid mp game variants out of the box

And because it uses the Half Life engine, it isn't as taxing on low end systems as Q3/UT.

And because it's the most played game on the internet, it's quite easy to find people to play with.

Of course, there is no single player version...and most of the players online are angry 14 year olds...but if you can ignore them, you'll be fine.

HL: Counter-strike is great. I'm getting kind of bored but I've been playing it since beta1. Right on, Spiff. I bought Q3A and tried it for a bit. It is cool because the netcode is great and I get good fps (frames per second) for how good it looks. But I got bored after an hour and I don't have it installed. I'm patiently waiting for mods like Elite Showdown and Navy Seals: Covert Operations which are basically the fairly realistic counter-terrorist/terrorist thing. I dont own UT but the demo was okay even without a mod, unlike Q3A. I just like war mods or CT/T mods best.

Thanks for the Help guys. Looks like I'll pull my dusty old Half Life CD off the shelf and load it up. I've never played it with mods before.
