if you mean a cpu fan, and quietness is important to you, then your best bet might be the new alpha pal8045. it takes an 80mm fan, natively which helps noise. but the fan only fits on newer amd boards, becasue of its mounting mechanism - it uses the four holes around the cpu to attach itself to the motherboard. otherwise, you might want to look into the thermalright sk-6. lotsa people here reccomend it. it take s a 60mm fan, so the sky's the limit on noise, there (almost literally - some 60mm fans sound like planes!)

The best fan fro serious overclocking would defintely be the 80mm delta that's pushing out 80cfm and the Alpha 8045... one crazy mofo... let's see your hearing survive with that one. ;)

The 7K RPM Delta CPU fan is by far the best but it's so loud it's not worth it. My opinion, get a nice and quiet fan and invest in some high quaility RAM. OC the fsb and leave the multiplier alone. Heat won't be much of a problem then;)

SVC is having a sale. great price in the alpha. as far as the fan, i find a great balance of noise and performance can be found in the panaflo high-output fans. i have one on my alpha - it cools like a dream, and is nice and quiet, too! (i bought my panaflo from kdcomputers.com, bt they dont seem to stock it anymore, so you may have to dig a little to find one)

Grab a Panaflo FBA-08A12L from heatsinkfactory.com.

I've used several of them (replaced P/S fans to make them silent), they are amazingly quiet. 21 dba.

HeatsinkFactory has lots more 80 mm fans, so you can pretty much pick the level of performance/noise you want/are willing to deal with.
