I messed up my sleeping schedule over the weekend, and rather than attempting to go to sleep and feeling like shit in the morning, I decided to pull an all-nighter. But just in case, I want a recommendation for a good drink or beverage that can keep me awake during school in case I'm drowsy.

I've had some energy drinks in the past, most of them are pretty terrible though. I'll drink them, and then an hour later I feel absolutely terrible... like, I start shaking. It's not shaking as in "I feel energized", but shaking as in "holy shit I must have diabetes or something". I will never drink another Monster energy drink. However, I had one of those 5-hour energy drinks once, and it actually worked quite well. It's true they don't make you sick.

I heard there are some pretty good energy drinks that actually don't use caffeine, but still very effective without making you sick, but I'm not sure. What are your reccomendations?

Water.

It won't dehydrate you and it won't give a caffeine 'boost' that will just make you crash later on during the day. The shakes are the result of your body crashing.

You will be drowsy ... coffee works for me.

Ah... of course. I can buy coffee on campus. Much nicer than most energy drinks with tons of sugar and other crap in them. Hahah, I'll definitely consider this.

Still open for suggestions though.

I think 5 Hour Energy is probably your best bet but really, it's not going to be a substitute for getting a good night's sleep.

When I was in school and in that position, I'd usually try to get 4-6 hours of sleep and miss the first class if I had to.

Speaking of fucked up sleep schedules, I haven't seen the sun in probably 4 or 5 days. I love how I randomly get thrown onto the overnight shift. I've never been a person who turns down sleeping most of the daylight hours away but now that daylight is the only time I can sleep, it's a whole new ball game. Effff this noise...

Make your own coffee. You can control how strong it is. Im pulling an all nighter for work right now... I hate it. It fucks up my sleep for the entire week.

Drink the ones that say low-carb, or zero sugar, because your probably having a sugar crash.

Personally, I like the zero sugar monster, low carb rock star in either the white or blue can.

Monster blue can zero sugar + bananna + breakfast bar = win

Try working a 7p-7a shift, while having school 7a-3p.

That will screw up your sleeping schedule. :\

I've been supplementing my difficult nights/days with caffeine pills.
