What's the best electric razor?

I'm considering getting an electric razor because manuals tear up my face. I just don't know if its worth it since they are so expensive and often don't shave nearly as close. Does anyone have an electric that they'd like to recommend?
 
mine sucks. I think a lot of it depends on the thickness of your facial hair and the toughness of your skin

weak skin + tough hair = no electric for you... my dad's story... grow a beard
thick skin + thin hair = have at... mabye you'll have better luck with the round headed electric razors than most
thick skin + tough hair = might have problems clogging round headed electric razors... many razors simply buckle beneath the awesomeness of your mighty hair and good shaves are few and far between.
 
Wow, I made this thread? Are we talking about thickness of the actual hair or how thickly it grows in?
 
I've got a Braun Syncro and a Remington foil. I tend to use the Remington more often, it's washable and easy to carry whereas the Braun has a huge base and can only be "self-cleaned"

They both shave equally close IMO but the Remington is where it's at. I think it's the MicroScreen TCT or something like that...don't know the exact model.
 
I've been through 3 Norelcos. And when the time comes, I'll get a fourth.

Currently using a Spectra series.
