What's the best Dictionary on the Web?

I always use dictionary.com, but I don't really like it. The reason being is that where you punch the word in is at the top of the page. Even though I am on cable, i usually have the word typed in almost completely before the page is fully loaded. However, when the page is fully loaded, it highlights everything typed, and as you type you delete what you were typing. It sucks, so sometimes you have to wait a good 1.5 seconds before typing.

Try saving this to your hard drive:

<html>
<body>

<form name="search_form" method="get"
action="http://www.dictionary.com/search">
<label>Dictionary.com
<input type="text" name="q" value="" size="25"
maxlength="256">
</label>
<input type="submit" size="12" value="Search"
class="button">
<input type="hidden" name="db" value="*" id="d"
checked>
</form>

</body>
</html>

www.oed.com is the best. It's the full twenty odd volume Oxford English Dictionary. You can only access it through schools and libraries, though.

edit: or pay $295 a year.

Get opera. You can integrate most search engines right into the address bar. I just type d "word" and it searches dictionary.com for that word. I also have a little bar next to the address bar for tinyurl, I just paste the URL into it and hit enter to get my tinyurl. All this without taking up any extra space in the UI.

What he said. Truly awesome dictionary.

Not on the web per say, but I install WordWeb. Lets me check spelling or definitions by pressing Ctrl+Alt+W or something like that, very useful IMO.
