Vonage?

Would Vonage be good with a small business? I need one of the phone lines to connect to my fax machine... can vonage do that?

yes, Vonage's business package includes 2 lines. you can use both for voice if you want, one can be used for fax. word to the wise tho, up until couple of years ago, haven't tried it recently, vonage would only work from standalone fax machines, they couldn't send faxes from you PC using a Modem.

if your phone line is your life line tho, i would recommend staying away from vonage and getting an unlimited long distance package from your local phone company, VOIP is ok for home and such but it is not bulletproof.

Wow, it looks like i might go with Vonage for my 2nd line and fax. I read about it today and it sounds really good. I will use AT&T small business unlimited as my main line....

Is there a way to configure it so that if I have two telephones with two lines... that I can direct the Vonage line so that it would pickup if the primary line (AT&T) is being used?

Thanks again for your help! 🙂

that's called roll over and i'm not sure you can do roll over from AT&T to vonage i know you can do roll over if you have to AT&T lines.

you could probably also do rollover with a PBX system but you probably are not looking to spend that much money.

you can set the Vonage line as your primary line then have it forward all calls to your AT&T line. you can set it to ring twice or so on vonage, then you can choose whether you want to answer it on vonage or wait for it to forward to you AT&T.

you can also setup an 800 number with Vonage, have that be your primary number. then forward calls on vonage to your AT&T.

😉

good luck.
