I've been under the impression that a fan on the north bridge doesn't matter...but everyone seems to tell me now that it does for the KT133A and the MSi K7T Turbo seems to have deicded not to bother....so what should I use for it?

Thermal Take Blue Orb? Or is there a better Heatsink/fan for a northbridge?

I personally would drop on a TennMax Lasagna. They're pricey, but quiet, effective, & well made. My only experience with Blue Orbs thus far has been a bad one (it killed my GF2 GTS :|), & my experience with the Lasagna was a pleasure. The lasagna is also EXTREMELY compact, & looks much more professional (IMO) on a motherboard than a Blue Orb does.

does that mini hedgehog work for north bridges?

<< what exactly happens if the chip gets too hot? >>

just instability...you can't overclock as well. I imagine that at 133Mhz FSB the chip is fine otherwise MSi would have included a fan...but from what i've been reading 147+ you start to get heat problems on the chip if you don't have a fan.
