My g/f's dad just bought a Veo Capture 1300 at some B&M for like $70 (I'm sure it's cheaper online). I was thinking of getting one. Not for serious photography, but just to snap some occassional pictures to send home. I haven't seen the Veo's picture quality or anything like that, so I don't want to pick it up without at least getting some opinions or alternatives.

Has anyone had experience with this (or ANY) cheap (ie, less than $100) digital camera? I've tried some web-research but keep getting ratings on $300+ cameras, which isn't necessary right now. I just want something cheap that will snap decent quality pics. Any recommendations/links will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :D

edit: Compact Flash preferred. :) The Veo is CF compatible, FYI.

you probably won't find good and cheap together in digi cams, as with most other things. one or the other.

This was a pretty good deal and still running through today

I ALMOST got one because I've been looking for a decent little camera for misc snapshots, not so much for printing purposes, but decent enough to get good quality. But I've decided I've got to start saving my money up for my down payment on my next car . . . I've got pictures of the 2002 Altima and 2003 Mazda 6 taped to the side of my monitor for inspiration :)

I love my Kodak DX3500. It cost around $200.

Edit: aw, crap, I just noticed you said "under $100" :(
