What's the best cheap 1080P video camera?

My mom is looking to buy a video camera, so I figure she might as well go with something that supports high definition.

If there are no HD ones for under $500 or so, what are our best options?

I have a feeling she won't spend that much, but who knows. I figure it's worth the extra $200-300 to get a camera that supports hi-def.

Actually, you know, her television only supports up to I think 720p; do they make camcorders that record at 720p? If that would save a bit of money it would probably be worth it.

You need a Class 6 card, available separately.
