Whats the best cell phone deal going on right now? (First time buyer)

I'm in the Greater Washington DC area now. I'm looking into a plan that is under $50 a month. I need long distance and dual mode would be nice

Since I'm new here I figure I gotta be careful with recommendations, but I had a really good experience with a website www.firstpcs.com

Got a Mitsubishi web-browsing capable phone for cheap, and the AT&T plans seemed pretty good--definitely less than your $50 a month for many of the plans. They also had an Ericcson webphone for even less, like $60 bucks plus some kind of $50 credit towards other purchases.

Dunno. Webphone is the most exciting thing I've bought lately. Came here for deals on OTHER toys.

My friends like Cellular One, but I prefer AllTel. Both of them have really good specials going all the time.

Don't know if they offer this in your area but the CA/NV PacBell offers free Nokia5190 free long distance and unlimited mobile to mobile calls for a year. I got two phones for $55/month total. Pretty good deal for me since my gf and I put up 88 hours of long distance in one month.
