Whats the best cel phone out there?

I'm looking for a really small phone with pretty long battery life and most importanly has better speakers. Everytime i hear a nokia ring, i want to beat someones head into the ground. I like the size of my 8290s though, small!

I'm willing to go with anyone but voicesteam/t (something). I get no reception around my house area at all with that service, all my friends too.

Motorola v60 is the best one out there.

Pricey, but you get what you pay for.

sanyo sprint pcs phones seem to get great service. My samsung n200 loses it all the time..

v60, i paid $500 last October to get one when they were released in Dallas

They are much cheaper now, around $250 at some places

v60... i've had mine for a while, hasn't broken. the antenna is kind of weak and does break though.

You're asking a broad question. In the US, the phones are pretty limited.

Verizon -> v60i
AT&T -> since you don't like Nokias, the best phones are the v60t or the Sony Ericsson T68i
Voicestream -> any unlocked GSM phone, or v60g
Sprint -> Sanyo 6200, Samsung A-460, Samsung A-500

Ericsson T68m/i. Slight fatter but shorter than a nokia 8290. SMS, MMS (i version only) bluetooth, IR, color screen, Customizable background, some wierd but kinda fun games. I get about 5 days of standby with no talking on my T68m and about 4 days with approz 20min of talking per day. The battery is a lithium polymer so the phone as a whole is really light, lighter than the 8290. the back has a rubber feel to it for better grip.

I tried a v60 and returned it after 3 days, the phone in general (but specifically the buttons) felt way too cheap. I do like the whole flip idea, but the solid antenna (sp?) was annoying, I like internal or pullout ones. I got my t68m for $50 after rebate from amazon.com (acutally like $75 after tax) Love this phone

Most full featured phone now is the T68/T68i

Most pimp looking phone is the V70

If you must have a nokia.. the 7210 is about to come soon... has more colors than the t68i color screen. But i don't think it has bluetooth.

Although...if you don't want voicestream, I assume you can't get any other GSM providers...which means no T39.

In that case, the Samsung A400/460 or Sanyo 5150 for Sprint or V60c or V60i for Verizon are good.

If you can get a good GSM provider, get a T39m...reception-wise it will beat a T68 any day since it has an external antenna...it has the same feature set (bluetooth, GPRS, etc) as the T68 minus the color screen...plus it's a flip phone.

OR, if you can afford it, get the brand new Samsung S100 phone (also GSM)...it's an ungodly $600 but it's supposed to be worth it...
