I got a new hi-end Sony CD Walkman (EJ915, complete with G-protection). I also got a 8/8/32 burner. But i don't feel like using up a lot of CD-R's.

So what CD-RW brands do you recommend me getting to try with the CD-Player. Hi-speed (10X) or low speed (4X)? Green, blue or grey? Imation, Verbatim, Maxell?

I kno, prolly none will work.

My mid-range Panasonic SLSX-271C reads all CD-R's, though not CD-RW's at all. Good luck getting any to work :(

I'll try some Hi-speed Imations first. But it's not as easy to experiment with CD-RW because they much more expensive than CD-Rs and are reusable, so I won't ever need more than a couple of them.

Being able to play cdrw's depends on your player's laser mechanism. If your player supports cdrw's then it will probably say so. I know that Phillips brand among others plays cdrw's but i'm not sure about Sony. Jumping around from brand to brand of cdrw won't get you anywhere. Try the first one you find, burn it and play it. See what happens.

For what it's worth, i've heard that the Verbatim cdrws are much better than the Maxells in terms of reliability assuming that the mfg has stayed the same. Most people won't use cdrw's for backing up HDD's because of reliability problems or unreadable errors. Many people use cdrs anyways because of the cost factor ... but I find cdrw's pretty cheap relatively anyways.

My personal pref's are Fujifilm. Have had no probs reading them in any sort of player thus far.
And burn them at a slower speed.
