I hate the imation 16x blank disk, can anyone suggest me the best CD media available? I want to burn audio CD at 12x speed (the max speed offered by my NED burner)any suggestion?

fuji film cd's arent the best, but they are priced well and they work great...just make sure you get the ones that are made in japan

I use the Imation 16X ... no problems what problems are you having??

My general rule of thumb is to buy any brand you are familiar with that's the cheapest--you'll be OK unless you leave your stuff in the sun all the time and treat your CDs like s#%$

I've burned 500+ Memorex 80 mins on my 8x Plextor and haven't had any problems. Best Buy has sales on 50 cd spindles for $12-$15 every 3 weeks or so. I used Maxell before Memorex and they work well also.

I agree with using whatever works for you. Some people get anal about wanting certain manufacturers, etc. Taiyo Yuden <sp?> supposedly being the best but I've had no problems with any I've used as long as it was rated close to the speed I was burning at. The Kodak Gold was supposedly the best but they aren't made anymore. HOWEVER, I have noticed that certain brands seem to work better for audio in my car but that is specific to the audio CD player. Maxell's (made by Ritek, supposedly the worse if you listen to people who play that game) will NOT play in my car at all but have played in others without problems. TDK (also made by Ritek) have never failed to play in my car so go figure. I use Fuji now cause I can find them cheap (and made by Taiyo Yuden) and they have always worked whereever I've tried them.

I've used Sonys, Imations, and TDKs all without any problems. I've also heard good things about the Kodaks, but if you can't get them anymore, then I guess you're out of luck.

I like Kodak the best, though they are more expensive than the bargain brands such as Imation, Memorex, and PNY. Though I can't say I've had problems with those brands either. I like that Kodak guarantees their media for 100 years shelf life.

I've had bad experiences with CompUSA, Smart and Friendly, and Verbatim CDRW media. I bought some discs a couple years ago and they no longer work reliably.
