Whats the best Canterwood board so far?

Going to upgrade very soon and would like to know everyone's opinion on which canterwood board they think is best.

They're all good. Or perhaps they all suck. They're too immature and too exclusive to say one way or another yet, or to even pick a winner. I've narrowed my choices based on features, but my needs may not be your needs.

So far if I had to pick a CANTERWOOD, not springdale only going by reviews it would be the MSI,ABIT & Aopen boards.

the only reason I didnt say Asus is because of that buggy 166-199 bug with 533cpus & no gigabit high speed CSA.

I've never OCed and enjoying running stock and playing games, so the Intel D875PBZ is perfect for me 🙂

Abit IC7 and Aopen Ax4C look to be best if you are overclocking an 533 MHz CPU. Asus, and Gigabyte have the 165 -199 gap. MSI...dont get me started.

If you are running an 800 MHz CPU, the Asus and Gigabyte look good also

If you are not overclocking, the Intel board.

If options and features turn you on, check out the Chaintech 9CJS Zenith, with the VIA Envy24PT sound and all the accessories.

Yeah...but Chaintech? Maybe for a budget board but not a high end one. Same with the DFI.

And the MSI with its lovely core cell isn't buggy???Read around! Its got issues.🙂
I would go with the Abit or the Asus.
the gigabit Lan with CSA isn't an issue with MOST users but it does come with a price tag.
Im happy with my intel pro 100's running a load balanced team.

I can't make up my mind either, I will mostly likely go Gigabyte and if I have any problems then I will send it back and go Abit. I like the features of the 8KNXP more than the others which is why I will most likely go Gigabyte first.

........man it seems like just yesterday i shelled out the $$$ for my p4pe ,3.06 etc.. .im gonna wait till the smoke clears on this one . i saw a performance review that had #1intel #2 epox #3aopen so who knows.

Between Gigabyte and Abit...I kind of wish I went Abit, just based on featureset(or lack thereof) and price. The Abit IC-7G is about $10-15 cheaper than the GA-8KNXP but it comes with 2 SATA power adapters - that there is like a $15-20 savings. Also, since I decided to go SATA RAID at the last minute, I won't need the ATA RAID on the GB. Layout-wise though, the Gigabyte is better.

I sometimes question, however, whether or not Gigabyte truly implemented CSA GbE. Their block diagram has the LAN chipset on the PCI bus. It's also funny how Abit didn't even put a 10/100 chip in their IC-7, but Gigabyte did on their lower-end 875P model.

Don't take this as a criticism, because it's not, but I honestly don't see your motivation here. Why would you upgrade to an 875 / 3GHz when you already have a 845 / 3GHz? The performance improvement is barely noticable, and little if anything will max out your current system.
