my moms PC is a Celeron D 335 on a craptastic ECS board that retails for like 25$. I was hoping that replacing it would add some stability and maybe a little speed increase, any sugestions? Im thinking of spending 50-70$

I use msi, and am able to run my p4 at 260 fsb. Look for an 865 chipset board. The abit is7 is highly recommended, but scarce, and over your budget. You can also check newegg's refurb section. Try downloading the motherboard manual off the manufacturer's website before ordering, and check for voltage adjustments in the bios. Celeron D and the 865 chipset are available in both socket 478 and 775, so be sure the board matches your cpu.
