Whats the best Astringent?

I don't have acne or pimples at all on my face, but have a little on my shoulders, and I'm looking for an over the counter astringent to go on my face and my shoulders. Anyone hold any opinions on this? I currently use no astringent, other than what takes place when I take a shower. any thoughts?

After visiting ol dictionary.com, I still don't know what astringent actually means/is. If you're lookin to get rid of a pimple or whatnot, pop em or use Retin-A (drys the skin out, cuts the grease, my grandma gets it in mexico cheap when she visits there and drops some off for me, used to anyhoo) Although be careful about an area that has a constant pimple there, could be a cyst, I had one develop on my earlobe and i picked at it alot which didnt help, went to the doc and he cut it open and all the gunk came out if it, its still there, but not infected anymore, yummy..

Make your own.. I would go with this instead of buying something loaded with harsh chemicals.
