What's the best airlines in the United States?

first time I went to cali, I went with jetblue. I thought it was just medicore.

second time I went to cali, I went with UAL. I couldn't believe how better jetblue was.\

Southwest, because they're cheap, safe, fairly on-time (at least in my experience), and tend to hire friendly people.

Considering that all the other airlines have stopped serving food and everything, Southwest is looking better and better all the time.

United, in my experience.

I fly American a lot since they have direct flights to most of my destinations.

United - for economy plus (more legroom) if they are within $50 of the cheapest. Usually take them on 1000+ mile trips.

Southwest - for short work trips, cheap full fare tickets allow unlimited travel changes. Well run airline, employees have a great attitude and they are almost always on-time.

Plus they were the first ones I can remember that based their rewards program on # of flights, not miles. Much easier to keep track of 8 fights= free ticket.

Pretty easy to get considering I go to school in Berkeley and I need to fly down to SD once in a while. Over the course of 24 months, 8 flights is pretty easy.

Southwest for shorter flights. Longer flights, JetBlue is where it's at. But I usually just end up on whatever is the cheapest. Flying Us Airways/America West to North Carolina next month.

I agree. Flew Midwest (then Midwest Express) several times when I was living in Milwaukee. :thumbsup:

More recently I've been flying mostly with Northwest due to cheap fares, and it's been decent, I guess. I have a 12 hour flight to Tokyo coming up in about a month, so we'll see how that goes.

United/Star Alliance. Unless there is a significant difference (more than 15%) I don't even consider other airlines since I have Primier Executive status (upgraded fairly regularly) and am working towards 1million mile member.

I like Fronteir. They aren't really as widespread as the others, but if they are, they are awesome. I like the fact that each seat has its own TV with DirecTV. I also like that their planes seem much cleaner than the others I have been on. The airbus jets are nice

I fly a lot, (more than I like to) and Continental has always been the best for me, with Northwest coming in second. But of course, you have to pay for quality.

I cant believe all the people who love Southwest. Those guys are horrible, but I suppose you cant expect much for the money. Maybe thats why they're the favorite.

Southwest where I live has never been a good deal. Every time I've flown I've compared them to other airlines flying out of my area and there is always someone who is cheaper. Usually Northwest beats them out. Also when I fly with my wife I prefer assigned seating than first come first served.

Plus not having to line up like cattle at the local slaughter house is nice.

JetBlue sounds like the best domestic airlines. It's too bad that I live in the Midwest.
