I'm building a rig for one of my friend out of an old P4 2.8Ghz socket 478, 1GB ram, etc...

Need a $50-60 AGP Video card for gaming purposes for him occasionally and his lil sisters... please advise model/place (I assume newegg but which card please?). Thanks everyone in advance.

any other ideas? I want to get it ASAP. Any other recommendations? Newegg has a bunch with 256mb, I want to stay away from 128. Thanks!

Best you can buy new for that system. A 6800XT 256MB AGP should be fine on that system.

It's basically the same :)

He's right, it is not the same, it is slower than a 6600gt. It has 8pipelines just like th 6600gt does, but the clock speeds are much lower.

However, the one i linked above is only $62 brand new and in the OP's budget and still not a bad card for some casual games.

yup try to get a used 6800gt maybe a x800pro or x850pro etc

but you may have hard time getting any of these used for 50 dollars
