What's the best 780G chipset mAtx mobo out there?

I'm looking for something to pair with the AMD Athlon X2 6000+ for an HTPC. Based on some newegg reviews the Gigabyte board is a little iffy. I do plan to put a discrete video card in at some point so I don't want to spring for 790G.

I have this mobo and have no stability problems whatsoever. Might be some if you use AHCI instead of IDE mode.

I've read some places that it is nearly impossible to fit an averaged size discrete video card onto the mobo and still use the SATA connectors...have you found this to be a problem?

I've had that board for a few months running Vista32 Home with 3 gigs of G-Skill and a X2-4600 and haven't had a problem of any kind. It also feels very responsive. The 780G chipset is known for running hot, 85C-95C, but Gigabyte replied to an email saying that was the normal operating temp and so far it's been fine. I can't speak for overclocking because I only use it for video playback and haven't found a need to turn it up.

I got an Asus M3A78-EM and it is working just fine. I haven't OC'd or anything though; I'm also using the latest BIOS.

Ditto. I've had the Gigabyte 780G and 790GX boards up and running for months without a reboot, only sleep cycles. BTW, both are using ACHI. I've also had the 780G running a Phenom 9850 slightly overclocked (with the addition of mosfet cooling) for months without any problem. There's lots of misinformation out there currently about AMD platforms. But that's a story for another day.

i have a foxconn a7gmx-k . 780g chipset also.

the only problem i've seen so far is if you use the integrated video, there will be weird slowdowns in firefox 3 in XP unless you change a few settings.

other than that its been a good board /\

I have the foxconn a7gm-s and its network adapter died after the windows vista 64 august driver updated through windows update installed. Foxconn support, while technically have been good to respond, sucks. And I hear foxconn might liquidate their mobo business =/
