im looking at buying a 36" non HD tv in the next week, I personaly dont think the HD's are work the extra $600+ more than the non hd's...I looked at the sony 36" and it looks really nice but id read nothing but bad things about them, which is wierd because my current tv(27") sony looks great and its 11 years old..Im just wanting something bigger now...Seem people like the Panisonic's and the samsungs but i dont know anyone that has either one of these TV's to ask ...i know people are goin to say just spend a little more and get the HD, i will probly get an HD tv in a couple of years when the price comes down and there is more HD channels to watch, but for right now im lookin at spending around $1000 for a TV and i do want a 36"...So can some one tell me why the Sony's sux and what would be the TV to buy for that price and size...Thx..:)

I have a 32" Panasonic Tau, and it's good enough for me. For $1000, you can get a 36" Tau or a 32" HD Tau. If you have access to a HD feed, I'd go for the slightly smaller, but sharper 32" HD.
