Whats the best 27" TV for under 500 bucks?

Flat screen or non doesn't really matter, All I want is component video, it can be bigger than 27" too. Name brands are highly recommended...

I saw one of those Panasonic Tau's open box for a great deal I can't believe I missed it, 300 bucks! It said it had some physical damage though, I couldn't see any but it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Sony's are expensive, but they still make a very good set. I'd consider a Toshiba or a Hitachi as well. Panasonics I've never been that impressed with (then tend to be fairly light), but I haven't checked out any of their newer ones.

I have the Panasonic Tau and love it thought the JVC's are ranked best in consumer reports for best overall TV's if i
remember correctly

um..you can usually get tv's at ~$10/inch. thus 27 inch tv = $270. that uncluded picture in picture. look at walmart

Go for the Panasonic Tau's or a Toshiba in that price range. I bought a Toshiba and am extremely happy.

Whatever costco has... they have lots of 27" TVs there... Panasonics and Phillips/Magnavoxes mostly... They usually have at least one model that's close to $275 or so....
