That's for a regular 20 pack of cigs. I don't smoke personally but I order cigs for the retail store I help to manage and know that here in Canada we pay a hefty premium for cigs over those in the US but not over those in Europe. It used to be that all cigs her were priced the same, there were no premium or savings brans, Gov regulation, but in the past several years they introduced several pricing tiers for savings brand cigs and premium cigs. A cheap pack at my store goes for about 7 bucks after tax, medium to premium brands for $10 and up.

Here in Canada we also have King Size and Regular Size cigs for every brand and strength. King Size is closest to what most people are familiar with in the states. Do you guys have "Regular Size" in the states?

$10 or so

I'm not sure what you're talking about re: europe. I've never paid over $5 there. In Austria, Germany, Italy and ex-yugoslavia at least.

I don't know of any place on earth more expensive than canada.

$6 here in NJ...

But OP is correct, a box of 20 in London goes for around 6 GBP, which equates to about $12 at today's conversion rates.

Maybe for some premium brands, but more common cigs are just under $7/pack. Unless Vancouver has its' own Tax, I'm in Coquitlam.

I bought those cigs off st maart.
you know what, I really think they were fake (off on those islands)

About $5-$6 in NW Suburbs of Chicago (in Cook County)
Otherwise like cobalt said, about $4 in Lake, Dupage, Kane, and McHenry counties ...

Man, I thought it was bad when a pack of Camels jumped to $3.00 here in SC!!

Of course we do live in the area where they grow most of the tobacco.

When I quit in 1999 smokes were around $2 a pack around here. Now they're more like $5 for the bigger brands.

Depends what brand you buy... Du Mauriers & the premium brands are $9 for a small pack...

The brand I just quit a week ago yesterday - Peter Jackson smooths... they were $6.50 or so

haven't had one in a week. the damage was done though, I feel it in my lungs and notice it on the ice. me = idiot
