What's the APR on your credit card?

I read an issue of "Budget Living," and it said the average APR should be around 13%. If you are paying any more than that, you are being ripped off.

One of my cards has an 11% APR and the other has an 18% APR (ouch!). I will only be using the first one from now on.

17.xx% but i dont carry a balance so it dosent matter

EDIT: And its my first CC so I was expecting higher rates

If you've been paying your balance off regularly and care to change your APR, you can probably call and just ask them to lower it. They want to keep you as a customer, so they should have no qualms doing it.

How can you sign up for a credit card without learning about it first? Honestly...

Balance or not, that's information that's pretty fvcking important.

Capital One Platinum Visa, my first card, and with no credit history, 19.8% apr, $4,500.00 limit. (With no plans of carrying a balance.)

Amex Blue 7.99%
Credit Union Visa 7.90%
Amazon - variable around 13-16%
MBNA - 11.99%
Merrill Lynch - variable around 7-8%

Not if you never carry a balance. It's been at least 8 years since I've had one.

So I just look at the card benefits rather than APR, e.g. my Amazon CC gives me 1% regular / 3% Amazon purchcase "cash back" in the form of Amazon gift certs.

I have a Macy's card that was 21% when I last checked. I haven't used it in 9-10 years though, but it is still active, and on my credit report. It was my first credit card, so many years ago.

I also have both a mc & a visa with 8.9%.

technically 0% , i guess

i don't have a personal card in my name

i have a "company" mastercard in my name from work, but we have to pay it off each month/as soon as we get our expense check, so i don't think they charge interest

my wife has 2 cards, $500 and $1000 limit. i dunno what the % is, probably about 15% or something. with the low limit and keeping them mostly paid down, it isn't that much $ anyway

My main CC, Discover, has an APR of like 22%... but I pay off my bill at the end of every month.

Dang it feels good to be DEBT-FREE!
