What's the absolute minimum info one has to provide if one chooses to join FB?

IronWing

No Lifer
A secret society that I belong to just moved their online forum to FB. I don't have an FB account. I don't really want an FB account but I know they'll be talking about me there if they see I haven't joined. So what personal info does FB demand in payment for their services?

Tell your secret society to use a privacy, and freedom respecting application/service. If it's just chat, there's nothing wrong with irc, but there's a solution for everything facebook does. If you want the spying, just copy your hd, and send it to the NSA. No point in dicking around with middlemen.

your secret society is no longer secret if they are on webpages on the interwebs. They now are more just a society.

Sort of like how sub zero becaome plain zero after Ben Richards put him down.

Apparently they find out you are not a real person and disable that account. It is creepy, this Facebook.

They also still track you around the web unless you aggressively block their crap, and don't make mistakes. If I have to protect myself from from software/services I use, I don't use that software/service. Software/services you have to protect yourself from is called malware, and I don't voluntarily use malware.

Just an email and pass.. the rest they'll figure out from your activities or from third party :$ :$ :$

grammer policing.

Facetiousbook is evil. Don't do it. And BTW, once it goes FB this secret society wont be very secret anymore.

F is pronounced eF therefore an not a.

I'm not sure I buy that. I'd like to see that documented somewhere(not AT!).

Edit:
If you're saying it "ef bee", as opposed to "facebook" then I guess I can buy it, but it adds confusion since people will interpret the abbreviation in two different ways.
