I'm guessing he means..uhh...gosh, what's it called..was used for the lord of the rings, for one...
 
Ok, this is a shot in the dark, but you haven't given anything to go on. Is it the main theme to Requiem for a Dream? That has been used in a lot of movie commercials.

You guys are talking about the Kronos Quartet music that was composed by Clint Mansell. The version you hear in the LOTR trailer was specifically made for that trailer, but I don't think Mansell was part of the reorchestration.
