Hey guys,

I remember a couple years back there was this case that looked alot like a Lian Li. Had the nice Lian Li design and was black with a side window. It was actually pretty popular for an alternative to the Lian Li's it was priced around 100 at newegg. Had a bunch of positive reviews, was made of thick alumunim, 2mm i think?

Curious as to whether or not that case still exists and what its name was... I seem to remember it as a kingwin, but none of the kingwins at newegg look anything like it.

Anyone remember what I'm talking about? :)

It was a Kingwin. I believe the model was the KT-424.

Wow Away, you nailed it. Just what i was looking for. Looks like they're discontinued and there's not a single place to get them, not even ebay. Would have been a great case for 100.

I have that Kingwin case set up as follows:

AMD FX55
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
Corsair XMS PC3200 2 x 512 + 2 x 256
EVGA 7600GT x 2
WD Raptor 74
Maxtor 200 SATA storage
Zalman Fatality HSF
Aspire 680 watt PSU
ASUS DVD-ROM
ASUS Lightscribe DVD-RW

This is a very fast backup rig I put together recently. As far as the Kingwin case you referred to, it's an OK build, but the 'matching' Lian Li case is better. I have that case too. Here

I also have the 'matching' Lian Li case you referred to as follows:

AMD 4800 X2+
ASUS A832-SLI Socket 939
EVGA 7800GT x 2
Crucial LED Ballistic PC4000 500mhz. 4 x 512 2GB
WD SATA 250GB 16/3
WD SATA 250GB 8/3 storage
Enermax 535 watt PSU
Zalman 9500LED HSF
Sony DVD ROM
Pioneer DVD-RW
Lian Li case (matches the Kingwin)

Great for my son's gaming. The 16 x 16 MB and dual 7800GT's makes for great graphics. Very fast system. I like the FX55 above better!

I have had these cases (systems) for a while now. These are my backup's. I'm using the FX55/Kingwin build in my office right now. Put the Lightscribe DVD in recently and put it to good use making Pro looking DVD for the business. Ha! Wish I could sell these rig, but I have too much in them!

The Kingwin 424 case was also sold under several other brand names. I have a source that doesn't show up on Froogle, etc. This source is not for general distribution as I don't want them all gone due to the "AT effect" - I may even charge for the info... ;)

I also have a way around the small rear fan problem.

Vin,

Information peddling is all.

Reminds me of an old joke (cleaned up for a public forum): Why are they starting to use lawyers as test animals? Because they couldn't get the rats to b-f in the lab. :-D

IANAL...
