Since I busted my comp again, I decided to put the sound card in the P83 system for my sister, so at least she may listen to music or whatever. As I did this I discovered one of my computer speakers was completely !@#$ed, and the good one still had a slight humming sound, not noticable while playing music though.
As you could probably guess, playing an mp3 on a pentium 83 would take every bit of power its got, so full time stress. Well my sister called me from my room cuz she smelled something weird like it was burning. I got there and it really did smell a lot! Like woah, crap ... big time! I was kind of astonished as to why it was still on and WORKING... but hey, I stopped the MP3 and shut down the comp for a while. Thinking it was just that.. But now, several hours later, I am using the P83 (posting from it), and I caught a slight wif of that smell. I'm not playing any music though! I've never noticed that before.. it's not as bad as it was when it was playing mp3s, but still.
oh well... for all I care this thing can burst into flames
