Ever since Half Life, it seems like every single FPS has a crouch jumping option that lets you jump just that tinsy winsy bit higher to get to a ledge. who was the genius that came up with that idea? Cant programers just make the regular jump go a little higher instead of making us gamers strain our fingers just a little more?

they want people to develop skillz, they don't want everyone being able to do it easily, then it would defeat the purpose, plus crouch jumping makes a smaller target, and if you think about it in real life if you want to jump higher (and get your feet over something higher) you jump and pull your legs up to your chest (flying crouch)

never used it, but it could be useful
its annoying when people actually know how to use it and i can't shoot them then

Where are the skills in pressing jump and crouch simultaneously? It's jump+ crouch, it's not that complicated. It's a fundamental, not a skill. And if you think about it, in real life, how often do people jump onto a ledge, by bringing their legs up to their chest? See, we have these appendages, i think they're called arms, i might be mistaken though.

<< what's happened to old school rocket jumping! :( >>

Too many cases of people blowing themselves off in real life.

Rocket jumping was awesome in Quake... I got into some areas that I don't think we're even supposed to be able to..

Heh, rocket jumping was awesome, but it took so much practice to do. If you practiced enough though, you might have gotten to be as good as these guys, :p. I'm still in awe of how they did this stuff.
