Whats special about "C1" stepping P4's?

did i totally miss something? is this the agoia y of p4 or something?

i just cracked open my p4 2.8 533 512k and its a C1 stepping.. whats this mean?

AFAIK the 2.8 GHz and 3.06 GHz models are all produced on the C1 stepping (correct me if I'm wrong). Usually the later the stepping, the better the yields, the more chances you'll have a good overclocker. As of now, C1 is the latest stepping for Northwoods :)

All the C1 stepping means is that over the past several months since Intel has released the Northwood P4, it has optimized it a bit to make it more efficient and fix a few bugs. The outcome of this often comes in the extra overclocking compared with an older revision of the same CPU. As of right now, I am not sure exactly how to tell if it is a C1, I know Overlclockers.com has been tracking this.
