Hmm, post the rest of your system and we'll help you pick out some sticks.

Corsair ValueSelect should be awesome. Used the saved money on a beter graphics card and that'll give you better performance.

Edit: Fine since you're OCing some OCZ VX sticks should be good, they love voltage. And headspreaders dont' do crap. In fact they TRAP the heat in

No actually, even if he were OCing, using a divider with the Value Select would work just as well.

But what if he uses Intel? Can't go with Value Select anymore really, that's why I asked him to post his rig.

A divider is something that lowers the speed of the ram as the speed of the CPU goes up. Look for some overclocking guides online, there are a lot of nice ones in these forums too. Do your research before doing anything to the comp, you wouldn't want to break it.

Corsair Value Select for about 70 bucks per 2x512 sounds about right for your system.

A divider is an option in the BIOS you can select, so I guess it's "virtual." Ram speed doesn't have to necessarily go down, but if the ram can't handle the high FSB's that the CPU is running, a divider helps bring it down. You don't notice the difference when using a divider.

The standard PC3200 is fine.

Some other good brands of ram include OCZ, Patriot, Corsair, Crucial. I think the Corsair VS's are the best option, they OC just as well as the others (with a divider) and are about a quarter the price of higher speed rams.

i recommend mushkin 3200 redline or OCZ's bh/ch knockoff (pc3200 EL GOLD).

VX is awesome but i only recommend it to the hardcore, just because of the.. voltage situation if you know what I mean. configging it to run it's best could take 3.4v or more and i dont think most users are ready for that.

It's a hard clock frequency setting so it'll have no overhead. Just run your RAM with divider and get a better graphics card. Corsair VS it IS! :)

I'd grab a 1GB kit of the Corsair and sell your Ballistix in the FS\FT Forum or on eBay.
