That didn't sound right, i don't mean the 266Mhz, I mean the new ones that run the 266Mhz FSB. I have an Abit Kt7A Raid, right now it has a duron 650 on it, but that has to go. I want to get a tbird, would it benifit me to get the 266 or should I pay less and get the 200 and then overclock it. LMK

Then again, i just looked at pricewatch, they have 162.00+10.75 for a 200Mhz 1 gig, and 183.00+10.95 for a 266Mhz version. So I guess the price isn't that much of a differance, it used to be a bit more. I can get the 1 gig 266Mhz version for 175.00 shipped, so I may be better off getting it.

Be careful about ordering from the lowball vendors on PW. Price is not everything.

Well, it seems that most of the 266 ones are mulitiplier unlocked while not all of the 200mhz ones are. The reason why I personally went for the 266 one that was already unlocked was so I would not void my warrenty trying to unlock it (at least the dealer cant tell). If a dealer sees that you unlocked your multiplier they naturally assume you overclocked and voided your warrenty. On the other hand, if you have a factory unlocked chip, they have no way of proving that you overclocked your chip. My chip came w/ a 1 year warrenty and I wouldnt want to void it!

I am one of those people who enjoy STABILITY so I keep my cpu at the manufacturer spec that is why I bought the 266fsb if you want to overclock don't get it you can't get as much raw speed out of them but I love the extra 33mhz for my memory and its STABLE. Great product
