Well, I'll be 18 in 15 days, so I will tell you all about it once it comes my time. But, for the most part, people don't know what they are getting into. My government teacher had to go to jury duty on and off for about a year because it was a murder trial and he was put on the grand jury.

Do people hate doing it? Or is it the inconvenience that annoys them the most?

One of the thing that people fear about jury duty is getting in on a high profile case where it's slapped all over the news and in the papers.

If you are a juror on one of those cases, they pretty much lock you up in a hotel room, don't let you read the news paper, and let you have very limited contact with your family.

They do this to try and keep your bias of the trial at a minimum.

This is a vary rare event though. Most cases in and out in a matter of a couple hours.

Sequestered is what I'm thinking about when they more or less imprision the jurors.

I actually enjoyed it.
Late morning start, long lunch and early dismassal at a court much closer to home than my job was.

The last case I was on was a carjacking/robbery trial and I was fascinated by the operation of the justice system.

I was fortunate enough to work for a large company that paid my salary while I was on jury duty. It wasn't even worth the time for payroll to recover the few dollars a day the state paid me, so I actually made money by serving.

I personally would love to serve on a jury, but I haven't been called yet. :(

My company pays 100% of my wages for as long as I'm needed, so I certainly don't lose anything. Plus it'd be a nice break, & extremely interesting to boot.

Here's hoping they call me soon.
