Nothing much on mine yet - I always struggle as I don't tend to want a lot of things and, when I do, most are above our normal gift price point. So so far its just:
A few books
Steam gift cards
A few small hiking things
Trim square

What about a woodchipper to take of your uh, "hastily-conceived, barbaric, and criminally liable 'sound dampening solution'" that you installed in your home theater last year?

Hasn't the missus complained about the odor, yet?

I want my kids to have a good Christmas. I hope I can make them happy and spoil them enough to believe for at least another year. It's just going to be a balance of convincing them they asked for the stuff I already bought them. Since we aren't window shopping for presents this year much, I should just setup some custom reverse web proxy redirects so when they start looking for things I haven't bought, they'll get a message: "These aren't the toys you're looking for..."

I want to work something out so I can feel comfortable being around my parents for at least that one day. I wish I could hug them really good without a mask or fear.

For me, I just want a stack of cash to pay people to do house projects for me. I need labor and materials for major renovations in a few places. I want to pay someone else for their expertise to make problems go away for a change. For one of my houses, I want new siding, windows, and a new driveway (which would include a retaining wall and drainage, moving the electrical)... That way I can focus on laying out the walls and reflooring, replumbing the place. Yeah....big job.

I suppose I'll have cash for that kind of stuff, but not this Christmas....maybe December 2022 or 2023 when I'm debt free and wanting to invest in stuff.

It was too popular for it's own good so an alternative solution was used

I like how that is less of a box and more of a carrying case

Already got it, Trump getting the boot out of the white house. It's still planted in his ass hole! Now, I have another wish, double Democratic win in the GA senate runoffs!

I just requested my Republican absentee ballot for the GA Senate runoffs. I voted for Biden but will not vote Democrat for the Senate. I hate both GA Republican senators. They're both disgusting insider trading scums. But the thought of unified Democratic House, Senate, and the Presidency scare me more. We need divided government to make sure these morons in Washington don't get anything done and thus won't make massive mistakes. Plus, I sure don't want to pay 40% longterm capital gains tax, and I'm sure 99% of the investors don't either.

Nothing anyone would ever get me, so I'll get it myself. I might buy some rope for jul. Probably some whisky and tobacco too. Otherwise, I think I'm pretty good.

40% is as you know is the marginal rate for > than 1MM in LTCG, and yes I too am in this bracket from being a very early at a company you've said you want to invest in when they go public this year. A divided government won't do anything or be able to move on the long term strategic challenges such as climate change (EV) and China. Passion is so high that the phone and SMS banks are full and only accepting experienced callers ahd Andrew Yang is moving there to make it happen, so yea lets go GA dems

Yes, I know 40% is for >1MM. But that's not as big as threshold as many think anymore. You're now at AirBnB? or Stripe? I remember you scored big from LinkedIn IPO and Microsoft buyout.

I'm not so sure Biden will do much for climate change. He's still friends with many in big oil and Jim Chanos is also good friends with Biden. But Biden is million times better than Trump.

I'll be shocked if GA dems win the Senate. I was the only one among my family and friends who voted for Biden.

I'm pretty sure a very small percentage of people report >1MM LTCG, 40% is just a large headline number that people use to try and say dems tax people. So how about SALT cap? You live in NJ right? Trump found the perfect way tax "rich" people who don't vote for him, that actually impacts a large amount of people where the tax makes a material difference.

And yes Airbnb, joined pre series B when it was valued at 100MM. 30 cent strike price for the win.

Only small percentage report >1MM because they can take their time and sell portions only as they need right now. But if 40% passes, there will be mass exodus from people selling their LTCG investments to lock it in and sell while it's 20%. I'm in GA which is why I requested GA senate runoff ballot.

OMG, you scored the lottery with the AirBnB. You got in when it was valued at 100MM? Insane. Huge congrats and you're going to be beyond rich very soon if you're not already. Yeah, AirBnB and Stripe are the two IPOs I want in badly. And Starlink. All three are going to be generational winners IMO.

Nothing.

I just want to go on a fucking vacation.

A year ago this week I was in Turks and Caicos and I thought about it this morning as it was cold as fuck outside and it got me really down that the last time we were in the Caribbean was in March of this past year.

I should have been in the Keys right now but I opted to cancel my reservations for this week because I of COVID as well as having a 3 month old and thinking about traveling right now with both going on. Having to get up once or twice in the middle of the night on vacation didn't sound to appealing to me so maybe having a newborn is a good excuse to not go anywhere too.

But next year in like Jan or March I'm definitely going somewhere. I slacked and didn't put in for my son's birth certificate until last week and as soon as it comes, I'm expediting a passport for him. We are still open to the possibility of going to St. Thomas in December though if I can find direct flights. It's a very slim chance but it's in the back of my mind.

Ordered Olympic dumbbell handles, won't ship until December. With so many more people working out at home now, demand is crazy. Hence, getting stuff like this without paying scalper prices, can mean backordering.

already picked up a PS5, not much else out there I really want for any more.

edit: some kind of inside bike trainer or stationary bike for keeping my cycling routine up during the bullshit winter months, a lot to research here unfortunately.

Funny how conspiracists will tell you in one breath that 5G "gives you COVID", and then in the next "COVID IS A HOAX". Seriously, someone should examine their brains after they die. Might figure out a few things...
