What's on the +5V Rail?

My Hardware monitor says it goes from a low of 4.46V to a "normal" 4.51V.

How worried should I be?

On the other hand, it also say my CPU temp is 21 C. (normal air-cooled AthlonXP 1800+)?!?!

Well HDs are on the 5V rail as well - all externalt enclosures I have seen power the 5V connector as well as the 12V connector. I don't know what could happen if your voltage is too low though.

I wouldn't be *real* worried about what your onboard monitor says; they're notoriously inaccurate. If you want a real measurement, test the rails yourself with a voltmeter.

Hard drives (at least, AFAIK) pull the current for their motors off the 12V rail. They might use the 5V for some of their electronics, I guess, but that would be a very small power draw.

i wouldnt be too worried either, it doesn't take 5 v for the transistors to turn on, it's more like 3.2
