Now that there isn't any more Star Trek on the air any more, and Star Wars is done; is there going to be a new mega franchise to take their place?

omg star wars episode 0??? wtf i thought we already had enough with 6 movies... don't need any more....

I'd like to see a SW series on one of the big networks, and hopefully ST comes out with another feature film that is as good as First Contact was.

Mmm....I dunno. I'm not sure how the SG franchise would do taking to the big-screen. It might steal some of the magic that goes with the show being on the small screen.

Remember, the original Stargate movie wasn't too popular. Only the TV show took off.

And BSG...I think this show should continue. It has what modern audiences want. It's so gritty, and something so different than what we've seen from sci-fi shows before. Enterprise realized that the audience wanted more than just flying around, finding stuff that had already been seen in other series...they wanted DRAMA...a plotline to keep you in the edge of your seat.

I mean, look at the last episode of BSG. I'm SO stoked for it to come back! Is Adama dead? What's gonna happen to Starbuck and the others on Caprica?!? Is Tye's wife a Cylon spy?

And WTF is gonna happen on Kobol? Is Balthar going to keep going nuts or what?

BSG and SG should keep to the small screen for now. We'll see how Firefly does in theaters before any judgements should be made.

Berman once more addressed the reasons for Star Trek: Enterprise's cancellation, mentioning once again the over-saturation of the franchise, but also the hefty pricetag associated with a show like Star Trek. "Unfortunately, our show costs a lot more than [the Sci-Fi Channel's] shows do," he said. "A lot of those shows are shot with budgets not much more than half of what out budgets are. I think that to continue our show at the level of production we've kept it at, to keep these actors, it would probably be prohibitive to do it on cable."

Total BS. The entire point of Enterprise was to bring us back to basics, to see how a crew would deal with space travel using much simpler technology. But no, they had to go and screw it up by putting in some time travel and a species bent on destroying earth. I really liked the start of Enterprise. They messed it up big time.

I found i rather enjoyed ST:TNG compared to enterprise. I think some of the stories were better overall.

Personally though, i enjoy Babylon 5 over Star Trek: TNG becuase the charators seem more real. People have conflicts with each other, while in Trek every one seemed to have gotten along on the enterprise.
