if I were Peter Jackson I would take all the money he made from the Lord of the Rings movies, exchange it for gold coins, and swim around in it like in Ducktales.

I've heard this as well, which makes absolutely no sense considering that there's already been a "The Hobbit" movie. When in doubt, it's probably about the money, of which Christopher Tolkien no doubt wants more than he's been offered.

No. Christopher Tolkien didn't want LOTR diluted and misinterpreted by movies at all (which did happen).
