hey all,
I'd just like all you people with Windows ME to sum up some of the good things this OS has, and why you think it's better/worse than 98SE.

also, could someone tell me what's missing in the "stripped 154 Mb version" of Windows ME? ;)

thanks :)

I dont have WinME, but if you got what you usually get on the net it will just be the CABS folder and nothing else.

none of the 'extras' you get on the CD.

Millenium is fairly good. It boots faster and shuts down faster. I havent had too many crashes in the past month that i have had it. Millenium is more stable than 98se. Only complaint that i have is that it doesnt save my settings. For instance, when I restart ny computer i have to manually go to inernet options and set my dsl as my default connection.

To me it looks like Win ME is just more milking of the Win 9x "engine". It doesn't have any features that make me want to spend $109 retail to upgrade. It's good that MS is updating their consumer operating systems but it's bad they're charging full admission price for a product that isn't very compelling. Going from Win 98 to Win 98SE was like $25 or so and I felt that was fair so I bought. But $109 for 98TE?
