What's needed to play .mpg?

Videos with the .mpg extension don't load, just remain blank.

I have WMP11, Quicktime, Real, and k-lite codec pack.

I've had pretty good luck with defiler pack. It most likely has whatever codec you need. Just google defiler pack. download and install. I'd bet your video will play. ;-)

I have had luck with the Codec Pack All-in-1, that seems to be basically a catch-all for video and audio codecs, with the exception of DVD playback (I think)

VLC will play pretty much anything without the need for any of those messy codec packs.

that or media player classic with the combined community codec pack.

the cccp is probably one, if not the best codec pack out there.

I'm talking about streaming vids, not where it opens up a player.
I already had the "all in 1" and it didn't work so I got rid of it.

Except you still need a MPEG codec license for VLC use to be legal.
