What's more important for fan cooling? Intake or Exhaust?

I'd say exhaust is slightly more important. If you can only have one or the other, a properly places exhaust fan will benefit you more than an intake fan.

But the real key to cooling is air flow -- intake and exhause working together.
 
Definetly, you really want a good air flow, moving air. You could have a kick ass intake, but nothing going out, or awesome fans sucking air out, but nothing bringing it in fast, and youd still have alot of hot air. Whats even best is to create corridors in which the air can flow. Always make sure you clear up all the cables and organize them nice so that the air flows. But....if I were to have to choose one or the other, it would have to be exhaust. In fact, if you could somehow seal your computer, except for a very small entrance hole (me fantasizing again) you could create low pressure inside the case, hence lowering the temperature....that is...if you have a very solid case....and a very very strong fan.

I say more intake that outtake. Because intake fans are usually obstructed behind a brazel, and don't have a direct path as usually the outtake does. Also more intake prevents air being sucked through drives and such were you probably don't want air pass through if you have a air filter up front. Lets see and also more air pressure up front will keep your componets a little cooler..air presure tends to die about 3/4 way up the case the rear fan will assist the front keeping that breeze through the case.
