What's more dangerous to liberty: 14th, 16th, and 17th Amendments or no BoR?

I'm thinking it would've been better for liberty if the Constitution had been non-Amendable because even though there are more Amendments that reduce the power of the Federal government, they aren't as strong as the 14th, 16th, 17th. Plus, the Constitution may not have lasted more than 15 years if there had been no Bill of Rights, because the Jeffersonians would've been so pissed that there would've been another Revolution.

If you value liberty, then do you think the Bill of Rights was worth the 14th, 16th, and 17th Amendments? Why or why not?

The only Amendment I would like to see appealed is the 22d Amendment.

Repeal the 22d Amendment, NOW! Today!

First of all the 14th Amendment mostly extended the BoR to the states. Prior to this the States could violate the bill of rights all they wanted.

The 14th Amendment is BY FAR the most important amendment in the constitution. Nearly every major civil rights victory is because of the 14th amendment. When the 14th amendment passed the constitution it self was reborn. With out the 14th amendment the Bill of Rights was basically meaningless. The 14th Amendment is what gives us real protection of our basic rights.

How is the direct election of US Senators dangerous to liberty?

Because teabaggers and aristocrats feel that the great unwashed are unqualified to select senators and that power should be left to the state legislators which presumably those superior persons control.

How do you define "liberty"?
