Whats it called when you make a photo look like a painting

lokiju

I've seen a lot of wedding photos where it's framed and hung like a photo and the matterial it's printed on looks like canvas or something like that.

Does anyone know what this process is called and or a place online that does it?

I'm not sure there's a name for it, as it's not really a defined process.

That said, there's an excellent photographer where I live that does an *excellent* job of what you're talking about. In a quick look over their website, I didn't see any examples of the technique, but I know they do it.

?

I talking about a physical photo hanging on the wall, where it's been made to look like it's painted on canvas (probably just printed on canvas) and framed.

Just wondering if theres a certain name for this.

There are filters that will do a quickie job, but none that I'd use. Despite what many people think about photoshop, filters are rarely a magic bullet. I retouch all day, every day, and the only filters I use regularly are Add Noise and Gaussian Blur.
