Here are my list for now:

1. Epson Perfection 640U approximately $150 shipped fron Amazon (the only one that sell this one)
2. Epson Perfection 1250 $50 + tax ($105 PM to Staples, $25 coupon, $30 MIR)
3. Canon CanoScan N656U $64 + shpping
4. no HP, I'm using Win2k, HP service sux.

I will only use the scanner for casual scanning, photos (not negative), magazine, etc.
I'm incline to go with Epson 1250 right now, but I read the review at CNET that the image quality is just OK.
Any suggestion?

I picked up the Visioneer 8700USB from Sam's club for 90 bucks and it works great on my system W2k TBird, It's a 48bit scanner that will do 1200x4800. I don't really like the software that comes with it so I'm using omnipage. The pictures that I scan in come out better on the monitor than they do the origs..

Right now I would recommend the 8900USB
