what's involved in getting a business license?

i'm looking to resell some awesome motorcycle gear online, but the dealer requires that I be a legit shop owner. They require that I have a resale license or a business license. What's it take to get one?

Resale tax permit is usually from the state.

Business license is from city or county.

Get on the phone. Wouldn't hurt to get the information from someone who is already in business in your area.
